Bartender - York
Hello York
Now recruiting for a Bartender at No.1 York / Pearly Cow York
Do you know your way around a cocktail shaker better than most know their way around The Shambles? Can you mix a martini with precision, pour a pinot with pride, and serve every guest like they've just stepped out of a Viking saga or a cathedral tour?
Here at No.1 York by GuestHouse, we're a small but stylish, family-run boutique hotel, and we're looking for a Bartender who can bring energy, elegance, and excellent service to our bar team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Mixing, pouring, and serving drinks with confidence and creativity
- Creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests - whether they're locals, tourists, or time-travelling Tudors
- Keeping the bar stocked, spotless, and running like clockwork
- Recommending drinks, sharing stories, and occasionally dazzling with your cocktail knowledge
- Supporting the Pearly Cow team during busy shifts

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
