FTE Salary: up to £31,065 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours: 37 Hours per week including evening and weekends.

We have an exciting role of DISE Basketball Coach and Assessor within our SGS Sport Basketball Academy!
South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS) is seeking a driven, passionate, and forward-thinking coach to play a pivotal role within our thriving Basketball Academy. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to lead and inspire athletes on the prestigious Basketball England Level 3 DiSE programme, while actively contributing to a high-performance environment connected to one of the UK’s most exciting basketball pathways through the Bristol Flyers.
You’ll be pivotal in delivering top-level coaching, developing players both on and off the court, and building strong links across the Bristol Flyers Community Club network. Working alongside the Director of Basketball, you’ll help identify and recruit emerging talent, shape future squads, and drive standards across all layers of the SGS Basketball Academy and Bristol Flyers community club programme.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing, delivering, and assessing the Basketball England Level 3 Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS).
- Responsible for coaching delivery within the SGS Basketball Academy
- Responsible for supporting the Director of Basketball in the ongoing development and recruitment of players to the college and academy across all levels.
- Responsible for the co-ordination and delivery within the Bristol Flyers Community Club activity including coaching, coaching and liaising with volunteer coaches and team managers.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Basketball England Level 2 qualification (Essential)
- Basketball England Level 3 qualification (Desirable)
- Safeguarding and coaching qualification
- First Aid Qualification
- Assessor qualification
- Understanding of long-term athlete development
- Understanding of the Basketball England talent pathways
- Experience and knowledge of the local, regional and national basketball ecosystem.

- Excellent digital skills for communication and administration
