Our Bathing Water Team collaborates across public, private, and community sectors to enhance water quality and customer service. As a Bathing Water Technical Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting complex data and translating it into practical advisory recommendations for all stakeholders and partners.
  • Supporting operational teams with training, monitoring, and guidance to utilize assets effectively for optimal bathing water performance.
  • Coordination with internal and external teams during the bathing season to analyze sample data and conduct root cause investigations.
  • Ensuring integrated collaboration among multidisciplinary teams—hydraulic modelling, civil engineering, marine monitoring—to devise cost-effective solutions that benefit customers and the environment.
  • Establishing networks for continuous improvement in both internal and external collaborations.
  • Developing new processes and policies informed by pollution management knowledge to maximize bathing water quality.
  • Championing a nature-first approach to investment with technical input.

About the Team:

The Bathing Water Partnership oversees 18 coastal and 4 inland bathing waters throughout the Yorkshire region. Your role will be integral to improving overall bathing water quality.

Requirements:

  • Education/Experience: Relevant degree or experience in bathing water quality/pollution management.
  • Industry Specific Knowledge:
    • Expertise in wastewater treatment networks and management.
    • Proven analytical problem-solving, management, and leadership skills.
  • Leadership:
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, engaging clearly with all organisational levels—from team members to senior executives.
  • Skilled in communication—conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Soft skills:
    • Excels at working independently and within collaborative teams.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office products and strong IT knowledge.
  • Embody a strong customer experience ethos.
