Battery Chemical Scientist

Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK

Company: Integrals Power Limited

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Integrals Power

Integrals Power is an innovative UK battery technology company developing next-generation Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) cathode active materials for electric vehicles, defence, marine, and stationary energy storage applications.

Our patented technologies are focused on delivering safer, lower-cost, and more sustainable battery materials while establishing resilient UK and European supply chains. We work closely with leading industrial and academic partners through UK and European government-funded programs. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a highly motivated Chemical Scientist to join our team at our pilot manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and scaling phosphate-based battery materials, supporting research, pilot-scale production, and commercialization activities. You will work directly with our multidisciplinary technical team to develop innovative cathode materials and precursor technologies while supporting customer projects and collaborative R&D programs.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing battery materials company at an exciting stage of commercial expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize phosphate-based materials [including LFP, LMFP, Iron Phosphate (FP) precursor] and synthesis processes.
  • Prepare cathode active materials from laboratory to pilot scale.
  • Conduct process optimization to improve material performance, yield, scalability, and cost.
  • Support pilot production campaigns and technology scale-up.
  • Characterize battery materials using standard analytical techniques.
  • Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
  • Support electrochemical testing activities in collaboration with external partners.
  • Contribute to UK and European collaborative R&D projects.
  • Assist with process documentation, SOPs, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure good laboratory practice.
  • Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and company H&S policies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
