Why cross-functional battery teams struggle without shared training

Battery technology companies and battery research organisations rarely fail because one person on the team lacks knowledge. They fail because different functions carry different mental models. The cell engineer optimises for energy density. The pack engineer optimises for thermal margin. The procurement lead optimises for landed cost. The commercial lead optimises for contracted revenue. Cross-functional collaboration is the constraint, not raw technical ability. Shared battery education is the fastest way to relax it. When the team can name the same failure modes, quote the same cost drivers and reason about the same degradation curves, decisions stop stalling in translation.
