BD Advisor – Temporary Role at Linklaters
As a BD Advisor, you’ll gain exposure to a Magic Circle law firm in an in-house environment, supporting critical business and legal development activities that shape client relations and strategic growth.
Role Overview
You’ll assist our legal and business development teams across multiple practices, working closely with lawyers, managers, and global colleagues to deliver high-impact research, documentation, and coordination. Your contributions will directly enhance client service excellence and align with the firm’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Legal & Business Support
- Provide essential legal research, documentation, and case management assistance to lawyers and BD teams.
- Help develop pitches, panel submissions, and support directory, award, and league table entries.

Client & Market Insights
- Conduct client, market, and competitor research, analysing findings to inform legal strategies and client engagement efforts.

Marketing & Collateral Creation
- Draft, review, and maintain client-facing collateral, including reports and marketing materials.
- Assist with targeted campaigns, events, and initiatives to promote Linklaters’ expertise.

Operational & Administrative Coordination
- Maintain and update practice materials, mailing lists, and databases.
- Collaborate with global/regional teams to share best practices and drive strategic projects.

Project & Campaign Management
- Project-manage end-to-end processes for:
- Pitch preparations
- Client alerts
- Profile-raising activities
- Support the implementation of BD and legal plans tied to practice business goals.

Relevant Experience & Skills
Essential
- Prior experience in business development support (either direct or indirect).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and functions.
- Analytical mindset to interpret legal and market data, identifying opportunities.
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, high-quality documents, RFPs, and pitches.
- Commercial acumen and expertise in strategic thinking.
- IT clarity and social media literacy; ability to facilitate meetings and present confidently.

Preferred (Bonus)
- Experience as a Paralegal or Support Lawyer within a professional services or law firm.
- Familiarity with Law firms’ business development frameworks (e.g., client management tools, reporting systems).

- Organised, resilient, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
About the Contract & Engagement
Linklaters partners with a third-party provider for contractor and temporary staffing. If you accept this temporary role, you’ll be engaged via our preferred provider under a contract for services, meaning:
