Job Description:

Business Development Manager (I&C Energy)

Location: Field Based (UK)

Salary: £60,000 Basic + £500 Monthly Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission

Are you an experienced Industrial & Commercial (I&C) Business Development Manager looking for your next challenge?

Our client is a well-established and highly respected energy consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering strategic energy procurement and risk management solutions to corporate clients across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced, self-motivated Business Development Manager to join their expanding Corporate Sales team.

This is a true self-generating BDM role, ideal for someone who enjoys opening doors, developing long-term client relationships and managing complex sales opportunities from initial contact through to close.

The Role

You'll be responsible for identifying and securing new Industrial & Commercial clients, developing your own sales pipeline and managing the full sales process.

This is a consultative sales role where you'll work closely with businesses to understand their energy strategy and provide tailored procurement and risk management solutions.

Typical contracts are five-year agreements, allowing you to build long-term relationships with clients while generating significant earnings.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Self-generating appointments and developing your own pipeline.
  • Winning new Industrial & Commercial customers.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.
  • Selling strategic energy procurement and risk management solutions.
  • Advising clients on energy purchasing strategies and market trends.
  • Building long-term relationships with corporate decision-makers.
  • Negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Working closely with internal procurement and trading teams to deliver the best customer outcomes.

You'll also have:

  • A proven track record in business development within the energy sector.
  • Experience generating your own appointments and winning new business.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers.
  • A consultative approach to selling complex energy solutions.
