ecobirmingham is a mission-driven charity building greener, fairer, healthier communities across Birmingham. Through collaboration and positivity, we support local people to take meaningful climate action across energy, health, food, cycling, and community-led environmental projects.
About the Role
As a Trustee of ecobirmingham, you will play a vital role in shaping a greener, fairer, and healthier city. Your contribution will help guide our strategy, strengthen our impact, and ensure communities across Birmingham are supported to take meaningful action on climate and sustainability. Together, we can create lasting local change that improves lives and protects our environment for future generations.
You’ll work alongside a committed group of people who share a passion for social and environmental justice, contributing to decision-making and helping us remain responsive to the needs of Birmingham’s communities.

What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring one or more of the following skills and experiences:
- Strong governance and strategic leadership, with the ability to work collaboratively at Board level
- Marketing and communications expertise to enhance our profile, engagement, and impact storytelling
- Trustee experience, including confident contribution to governance, decision-making, and Board development
- Legal expertise in governance, compliance, risk, and contractual matters
- Digital / IT experience to support systems, service delivery, and data impact monitoring
Hours: Hybrid

We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the strategic direction of our work. Ecobirmingham is at an exciting stage of growth and aims to:

The Board is looking to strengthen its mix of expertise in areas such as:
- Governance, finance, legal or fundraising
- Digital and operations
- Marketing and communications
- Specialist knowledge in health, energy, cycling or community action
