Position title
Beauty Therapy Educator - Leicester
Description
We have an opportunity for an experienced, qualified and passionate Beauty Therapy Trainer/Educator to join the team Full-Time working at our Leicester site for learners aged 16-19 studying hairdressing and beauty therapy full-time programmes, as well as apprentices attending 'day release' training.
The successful individual will be flexible, empathetic and reliable: a team-player with excellent communication skills.
This role will be based at our Leicester Academy.
Salary: From £26,000 per annum pro rata, dependent on qualifications.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting students through to the successful conclusion of their chosen training programme
- SEN responsibilities
- Offer individual learner support where needed
- Teaching occupational skills to students
- Assessing students for competence in their qualification as required by the awarding body
- Ensuring students complete their training programme on target as agreed with the recruitment consultant and student, as detailed on the Individual Learning Plan
- Agreeing an individual training programme with each student, and monitoring this to ensure that the student is working to the targets agreed
- Training (or arranging training) for students to ensure they have sufficient competence to successfully complete their training programme
- Using appropriate lesson plans for teaching as determined by the Training Manager
- Identifying and addressing gaps in achievement
- Maintaining a record of progress and achievement for each student
- Giving constructive feedback on achievement and performance to students
- Meeting regularly for standardisation and training with other Assessors and/or Internal Verifiers

Experience
Essential:
- Industry related, minimum 3 years
- Experience of working in a salon environment
- Experience in a role working towards targets, prioritising workloads and meeting strict deadlines

- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
- CIAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent
- Safeguarding Level 1
Please note that applicants appointed without a recognised teaching qualification will be required to work towards and achieve an appropriate teaching qualification within three years of appointment.

- Monday to Friday, 9.00am–4:30pm working hours (FT)
