About the Role

St Lawrence CE Primary, part of St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint a Before and After School Club (BASC) Assistant for Wraparound Care within our school setting.

The role offers permanent employment in a supportive community-focused environment.


Key Details

  • Permanent position
  • Grade 2 / Spine Point 4
  • Annual Salary: £11,709
  • 20 hours per week (term-time only)
  • Paid for 44.85 weeks per annum
  • Route Location: St Lawrence CE Primary, Telford
  • Required to start: September 2026

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support our before and after-school clubs, ensuring the safety, engagement, and well-being of children during extended hours in a trusted multi academy environment.


Responsibilities

It is essential that you can demonstrate suitability to work with children and young people, including the following:

  • Safeguarding adherence: Actively promote the welfare of children and young people in line with our safeguarding policies (ref: Keeping Children Safe in Education).
  • Enhanced duty of care:
    • Working at both before-school (7:30-8:30am) and after-school (3:15-6pm), ensuring children are safe, supervised, and engaged.
    • Assisting in club activities, meals, and bookable after-school clubs (if advertised).
  • On-site assistance: Support with general school tasks as required (e.g., maintaining club resources, punctualism, administration).
  • Community engagement: Foster positive relationships with families, staff, and pupils.
  • Dealing with situations: Support school staff in handling workplace conflict and safeguarding issues, including other safeguarding roles as required.

Professional Expectations

  • You will be required to:
    • Undertake disclosure checks (enhanced DBS, Prohibition List, Childcare Disqualification, where applicable).
    • Provide academic and professional references.
  • All shortlisted candidates will be asked to disclose their social media profiles, and their online content will be assessed in line with the Trust’s safeguarding policies.
  • You must be over 18; voluntarybars may apply if you have criminal convictions.
