This position will oversee the implementation and management of the Minnesota Veterans Home's Domiciliary Program mental health/behavioral health clinical services program with the goal to achieve the best psychosocial and clinical outcomes for residents served. This position will provide clinical oversight and direction in the behavioral health programming to all in the Domiciliary Program.

This position will travel between Hastings and Minneapolis Domiciliary Program locations.

The Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings is a Domiciliary (DOM) which is an independent living community for Veterans. It provides a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. Our rewarding program helps Veterans with their clinical, mental, chemical, and physical needs, and has the capacity to serve 195 Veterans between the Hastings and Minneapolis campuses. We offer a creative, fun, collaborative, and stimulating work environment that encourages professional growth.

The Hastings DOM is located in the southeast metro with connecting highways for an easy commute. The beautiful 128-acre wooded campus includes mature oaks and pines, nature trails and biking paths overlooking the Vermillion River.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota licensure, in good standing, as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), OR Licensed Psychologist (LP) with ability to provide clinical supervision or achieve the Clinical Supervision Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience as a supervisor, team lead, or lead worker.
  • Three (3) years of experience providing mental health services such as hands on experience directly assessing and treating individuals with behavioral health concerns.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

  • Ability to formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; provide mental health treatment; and develop a collaborative behavior care plan independently while using Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • Ability to teach mental health content to a variety of professionals; effectively function within a multidisciplinary team; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries; and have leadership and clinical supervision experience.
  • Experience in documentation using an Electronic Healthcare Record and Microsoft computer programs.

AND

  • Valid driver's license or the ability to travel regularly between Hastings and Minneapolis Veterans Homes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in providing individual and group therapy to Veterans with primary diagnosis of mental illness, post-traumatic stress disorder, polytrauma, substance use disorders and/or providing individual and group therapy on suicide prevention, geriatrics, or specifically related to a service era.
  • Experience with program development demonstrating collaboration and building networks of support for Behavioral Health within existing health systems including working with nursing, social work, providers, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals.

Additional Requirements

This position requires successful completion of the following:

  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position. When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) Screening or Chest X-Ray is required prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
  • Finalists may be required to pass a driver's license check
