Behavioral Health Therapist II- Integrated Behavioral Health at Aston - Hybrid
Job Details
ChristianaCare’s Integrated Behavioral Health Department is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Therapist II who demonstrates strong clinical expertise, trauma-informed care, the ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships with a diverse patient population, and a deep commitment to patient-centered outcomes to support its Aston Primary Care location in Pennsylvania.
This Behavioral Health Therapist II contributes to the overall clinical operation of the behavioral health department and the daily care of the outpatient population in primary care, functioning as a member of the clinical team through collaboration, consultation, assessment, treatment, and behavioral health education. They provide collaboration with the Behavioral Health team and support an integrated model of health care, combining consultation and psychotherapy responsibilities.
Key Requirements
- Active licensure in both Delaware and Pennsylvania.
- Candidates without dual state licensure must demonstrate the ability and willingness to obtain it prior to employment.
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, Day Shift
- Excludes weekends and holidays
- Hybrid role with:
- Four (4) days onsite
- One (1) remote day (Subject to change/adjustment based on departmental needs)
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical expertise in providing psychological care for the assigned population, including:
- Conducting assessments, interpreting patient needs (age, culture-specific), and tailoring care.
- Providing consultation and liaison services to the medical/specialty department, addressing acute needs and delivering outpatient psychotherapy.

Coordinates care transitions to community settings as needed, leveraging knowledge of available resources.

Consults with interdisciplinary teams on behavioral health needs, fostering collaboration with community partners.

Develops group therapies for specialty populations, aligning with ChristianaCare’s standards.

Supports staff development via consultation, education, and suggesting best practices.

Maintains active engagement with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.

Completes mandatory ChristianaCare Hospital System (CCHS) education and maintains specialization certifications.

Performance & Compliance
- Ensures established productivity levels.
- Protects confidentiality while upholding patient rights.
- Identifies and implements strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Plans and evaluates psychosocial support programs.
- Assesses patient/family learning needs and delivers appropriate care.

Virtual & Crisis Support
- Provides virtual coverage for primary care sites lacking in-house Behavioral Health Care (BHC).
- Supports absence coverage via remote work during illness, leave, or conferences.
- Responds to the BH suicide triage line for crisis interventions.

Engages in weekly BHC meetings and responds to staff inquiries for education/guidance.
Position Qualifications
- Master’s degree qualifying for state licensure.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required.
- Delaware & Pennsylvania state licensure preferred.
- Minimum one year of direct therapeutic care experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
Annual Compensation (Projected Range):
$68,161.60 – $109,054.40 (Base) Note: Actual offer may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
