Behaviour Mentor

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated support to a Key Stage 2 pupil who requires additional assistance with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team to help the pupil achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, or within a similar support role
  • Have experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional, or additional learning needs in a primary school setting
  • Be confident implementing positive behaviour management strategies
  • Be patient, calm, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships with pupils
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning

The Role Will Involve

  • Providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil throughout the school day
  • Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans
  • Promoting positive social interactions and helping the pupil develop strong relationships with peers
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the wider school team

Contract: Long-Term (with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate)

Salary: GBP 95-GBP 120 per day (dependent on experience)
