Behaviour Support Mentor | Dagenham | September 2026

Are you a compassionate graduate or experienced support worker looking to make a real difference in a child’s life? A welcoming primary school in Dagenham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to provide 1:1 support for a male pupil with Autism and behavioural needs.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Mentor who:

  • Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Is calm, patient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Can build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
  • Possesses excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential

In This Role, You Will:

  • Support your pupil throughout the school day, helping them:
    • Regulate emotions
    • Engage positively in learning
    • Develop social skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Implement strategies to enable the child to thrive academically and emotionally
