Job Description
Job Purpose
Provides professional service and delivery to the Front Office department to the highest level of responsiveness, care and attention to safety and reliability. The Bell person is responsible for offloading and taking guests’ luggage to the room and again loading it upon departure should it be required.
The Bell Person performs the work of in-house logistics and transportation according to the policies, processes and standards as defined and befitting a luxury Hotel. The role works with the Concierge and Front Office teams to ensure that transportation services are always delivered on time and to the standards defined and expected by The Front Office Department.
Bell Person duties also include; stocking the mini bars, maintaining inventory, organizing orders, and billing guests. The individual may also be required to assist other departments during quieter times with duties.

Primary Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Offload and load guest luggage
- Complete Luggage sheet for luggage kept by the hotel for guests
- Takes charge of vehicle packing procedure ensuring the correct safety procedures are followed for weight and balance, and for the protection of the equipment and goods being transported
- Handle all equipment, tools and machinery with care and respect
- Note any special requests by departments requesting transportation
- Respond promptly to all service requests.
- Ensure that vehicles and equipment are professionally maintained, kept clean and tidy throughout the service period
- Report any accident, or damage to vehicles and equipment immediately.
Customer Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure that all requests for logistical support are dealt with promptly, correctly, and with a professional service approach, every time
- Ensure that the ‘Rooming’ procedure is accurately carried out when introducing guests to their rooms
- Ensure that all transport and logistics duties are performed and completed with minimal interruption and inconvenience to guests, and the service operation
- When driving in and outside of the Hotel premises, take care to adhere to the traffic rules
- If spoken to acknowledge guests using the appropriate levels of discretion and the correct forms of address
- Always report back to the department being served, that the work has been completed, and report back to the Head Concierge & Concierge Supervisor once every job is complete
- Always display a polite and gracious manner

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- Completed Grade 12 education
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to effectively communicate with others in English
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar or customer-related role
- Competence in operating different types of passenger vehicles
- Ability to provide logistics and transportation service in a highly formal environment
- Dedicated to achieving high standards by working with others
- Ability to work effectively and safely when under pressure and when placed with demands
