Smart Buildings Support Engineer – North East England

Base Location: Field based, covering North East England

Salary:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

About the Role

We are expanding our BMS (Building Management Systems) Support team through a critical role overseeing sustainable building optimisation. As a Smart Buildings Support Engineer, you’ll bring innovative skills and forward-thinking solutions to help us create a greener tomorrow – for your family, community, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Enhancement

    • Conduct pre-planned BMS maintenance, minor upgrades, and additional site modifications.
    • Perform small-scale evolutions to system efficiency and planning.
  • Reactive Support

    • Diagnose and resolve reactive breakdowns during business hours and as part of the out-of-hours on-call rota.

  • System Advocacy

    • Propose upgrades and energy-focused system improvements for cost-driving efficiency.
  • Reporting

    • Generate clear, detailed reports from onsite activities.

Essential Requirements

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Technical Proficiency

    • Hands-on experience with Siemers/Trend/Tridium BEMS/HVAC buildings controls.
    • A head start, but not guaranteed, with Siemens Apogee dotwork (full training provided).
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Exceptional communication skills, ensuring collaboration with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
    • Demonstrated customer-focused dedication with a professional mindset.
  • Agility and Travel

    • Open to an agile on-call system and the need for site visits.
    • Requires a full UK driving licence (mandatory).
