Bench Joiner – Exhibitions & Brand Activations (Workshop-Based)
Company: CoolShock Events Ltd Location: UK workshop-based with some site work Job Type: Full-time, permanent Start: ASAP (flexible for the right person)
CoolShock Events builds high-quality exhibition stands, brand activations, and travel retail installations — all produced in-house. We’re looking for a skilled Bench Joiner who takes pride in clean, accurate work and enjoys the pace and variety of the exhibitions world.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Bench joinery for custom exhibition stands and event builds
- Reading drawings and working from briefs to build components accurately
- Cutting, assembling, and finishing timber-based structures and set pieces
- Working with the wider workshop team (carpentry, paint, print, install) to hit deadlines
- Keeping your workspace safe, tidy, and organised, in line with H&S standards

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a bench joiner / workshop joiner / carpeter.
- Confident using workshop machinery and hand tools.
- Ability to work accurately from technical drawings (or clear sketches/specs).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finish quality.
- Reliable, team-first attitude with a "get it done properly" mindset.
- Experience in exhibitions, events, shopfitting, set build, or bespoke joinery (a big plus).

Nice to Have:
- Experience with laminates, trims, and fast-paced custom builds.
- CSCS (useful for potential on-site installs).
- Forklift licence.
