About The Role

Benefits Assistant

The Benefits Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s Well-Being & Benefits team. This role will be responsible for assisting the Well-Being & Benefits department with a variety of responsibilities related to specific benefits tasks and projects to ensure the services, goals, and objectives of the department are met, as well as performing data entry of benefits information into the Human Resources Information System, various Excel tracking spreadsheets, and other systems, while maintaining appropriate judgment and a high level of accuracy.

This role will be located in either our Manchester or London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities

  • Reaching out to participants to collect missing information as deadlines approach
    • Advising participants of approvals, denials, or requests for additional information
    • Managing medical underwriting requirements
    • Requesting required supporting documentation
    • Providing members with termination/leave notices
  • Preparing special reports and gathering/summarising requested data
  • Communicating enrolments, changes, and terminations with insurance carriers and brokers
  • Using programmes such as Excel, Word, and Outlook to organise and track department records and documentation
  • Promoting effective work practices, collaborating as a team member, and demonstrating respect for colleagues

Requirements

Qualifications

We’d love to hear from candidates who:

  • Demonstrate the ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Exhibit the ability to perceive, analyse, and escalate problems to senior team members
  • Possess knowledge and proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably PeopleSoft

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Relevant prior experience preferred
