JOB TITLE: BFP Football Insights Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Football Insights & Intelligence
LOCATION: Cobham. Domestic & International travel may also be required as part of this role
CONTRACT: 11-month FTC, 28 hours per week
AGE GROUP FOCUS: U8-U11

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 2025, the Football Insights & Intelligence department strives to enhance the Football IQ of all our Academy players, whilst developing a culture of evidence-based decision making. Utilising video and data insights, the department is responsible for delivering our Made in Cobham education programme, whilst influencing key stakeholders by reliably measuring and tracking the performance of our players and teams.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Blue Foundation Phase Insights Analyst (BFP) plays a key role in engaging and inspiring our youngest players through fun, interactive and age-appropriate video insights and educational content. The role is designed to ignite a lifelong passion for the game by driving the development of key football behaviours, understanding and decision-making.
Through the delivery of engaging learning experiences, the analyst helps make football learning accessible, exciting and memorable, enabling players to develop a deeper connection to both the game and The Chelsea Way. Working closely with coaches, analysts and the wider multi-disciplinary team, the role supports player development through innovative insights, educational programmes and meaningful feedback.
The successful candidate will contribute to projects and insights that positively influence player development and coaching practice, whilst also having opportunities to support work across the wider Football Insights & Intelligence department.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Player Insights & Education
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate video insights content for Blue Foundation Phase players.
- Support the delivery of the Made in Cobham Education Programme through interactive workshops, activities and learning resources.
- Create innovative learning experiences that bring Chelsea's Football Identity to life.
- Develop player understanding of key football principles, behaviours and decision-making through video and educational content.
- Support players in reviewing and reflecting on their own performance in an age-appropriate manner.

Insights Capture & Feedback
- Capture, analyse and review training and match footage.
- Produce individual and team-based video feedback to support player development.
- Work closely with coaches to identify learning opportunities and reinforce coaching messages.
- Contribute to player reviews and development discussions through the use of relevant and actionable insights.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work collaboratively with coaches, analysts and multidisciplinary staff to support player development.
- Support the planning and delivery of Football Insights & Intelligence projects across the Blue Foundation Phase.
- Build positive relationships with players, coaches and parents, acting as an ambassador for the department.
- Contribute to cross-department projects and initiatives where appropriate.
- Assist talent ID and recruitment processes within our Pre-Academy and Future Blues programmes.
Innovation & Development
- Support the department to explore new and creative ways to engage young players through insights.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental processes, resources and insights programmes.
- Support the effective use of technology and digital learning tools.
- Remain up to date with industry best practice in performance analysis, education and player development.
WHAT SKILLS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Football Understanding
- High level understanding of football and keen interest in player development.
- Ability to communicate football concepts in a simple, engaging and age-appropriate manner.
- Understanding of player learning and development within an Academy environment.
Analysis & Communication
- Experience of video analysis and storytelling skills.
- Ability to translate information into clear and actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong written and visual communication skills.
Planning & Organisation
- Ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
