Clinical Remote Clinical Facilitator
Location: Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (HSCT), Tower Block
Directorate: Surgery & Specialist Services
The Role
We are seeking a ** passionate and knowledgeable Clinical Remote Clinical Facilitator (Band 8d, £91,342–£105,337)** to support our Surgery & Specialist Services Directorate.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a key interface between patients and the clinical team, ensuring seamless access to remote clinical services.
- Provide high-quality patient care, advice, and guidance over telephone, video, and virtual platforms.
- Collaborate with clinicians, specialists, and administrative teams to optimise efficiency in clinical remote consultations.
- Support the integration of technology-driven healthcare solutions within our Trust.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety, and data protection protocols.

Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Enabling remote consultations by managing appointment scheduling, triaging patients, and supporting their journeys efficiently.
- Reviewing patient records to assess suitability for remote consultations, conducting virtual assessments, and escalating cases as necessary with clinical teams.
- Providing patients with clear information, reassurance, and guidance on health matters over the telephone/online, including providing post-consultation support.
- Monitoring and responding to clinical information requests from patients, whilst adhering to HSCT guidelines and data protection regulations.
- Promoting health improvement and prevention messaging in line with Trust initiatives.
- Contributing to team operational reviews and actively participating in service improvements.
Technical and Quality Assurance
- Utilising Clinical Remote Consultation platforms to ensure patient confidentiality and a seamless experience.
- Maintaining records and reporting as required to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Supporting in the development and implementation of remote consultation services, including training and guidance for colleagues and patients.

What We Look For
Essential Requirements
- Current Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse or Midwife (required for NI workforce).
- Demonstrated achievement of Band 7/8a capability, preferably within recent practise, to develop efficiently in role.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and social care systems, with remote patient engagement experience highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to manage sensitive and varied patient situations effectively.
- Excellent IT literacy including experience and confidence in using telehealth platforms such as Microsoft Teams/Zoom and patient portals.
- Ability to work flexibly, accommodating different shifts and reacting dynamically to patient demands.
- Commitment to professional development and the ability to stay updated with evolving clinical policies.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous clinical remote working experience in a primary care or hospital setting.
- Experience in supporting complex patient pathways, including access to oncology, respiratory, and emergency virtual care.
- Baseline knowledge of IT systems CLIMS (Clinical Information Management System), health informatics, or remote care solutions.
- Familiarity with Care.given, in line with local customization, for health improvement and prompt reporting.
- Evidence of collaborative working styles, working with clinicians and specialists effectively to improve service delivery.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are a must to maintain clinical purity and confidentiality.
- Advocacy mindset: Patient-centered approach to frontline and virtual care.
- Nursing/Healthcare with Specialties proficiency – we welcome individuals with prior experience in surgical recovery, remote endoscopy, or medical clinics.
- Flexible, adaptable, and open-minded – ready to support the development of remote care at HSCT.

Employment Details

- Salary Bands: £91,342 - £105,337 per annum.
