Attendance Platform Temporary Pharmacy Technician (Student Programme) (Post Salary Band 4)

Position Details

  • Location: Belfast HSCT, Branch: Belfast HSCT
  • Salary: Band 4 (£27,485 – £30,162)
  • Contract Type: Temporary – to create a waiting list
  • Opening Date: 23 June 2026
  • Closing Date: Tuesday, 07 July 2026 @ 4:30 PM
  • Interview Dates: Interviews expected the week commencing 20 July 2026

Work Type & Notes

  • Online Applications Only – All applications must be submitted online.
  • Purpose of Role:
    • This programme is designed for applicants interested in progressing to the role of Qualified Pharmacy Technician via a student technician programme.
    • Applicants must not have already completed a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice of Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent. Instead, those who meet this criteria are encouraged to apply directly for qualified pharmacy technician opportunities within BHSCT.
  • Student Programme Details:
    • Participants will undertake the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in “Principles and Practice of Pharmacy Technicians.”
    • Subject to successful completion within 2 academic years, students will progress to a permanent role as a Pharmacy Technician at Band 4 with full salary parity and aligned job description.
  • Salary Structure:
    • Recruits will be paid at Band 4 but under the following pay conditions:
      • Individuals currently employed in Band 2 or Band 3 roles within the NHS/HSC: Pay reflects equivalent experience years in NHS/HSC.
      • Individuals not currently in Band 2/3 NHS roles:
        • Year 1 (70% of top of Band 4 scale)
        • Year 2 (75% of top of Band 4 scale) (refer to Annex 21 of the NHS AFC Handbook for specifics).
