BI Developer (Full-Time) – London (ASAP)

About Cooper Moss Rutland (CMR)

Cooper Moss Rutland (CMR) is a leading construction consultancy delivering project controls, project management, and commercial services for some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes. We’re seeking a BI Developer to join our growing Project Controls team, supporting major capital programmes in the UK’s infrastructure and energy sectors.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career BI professional to develop technical expertise while collaborating with experienced Project Controls specialists on nationally significant projects.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our central Project Controls function, your role will focus on:

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing Business Intelligence solutions that drive cost, schedule, and programme insights.
  • Working in a collaborative team to build dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting data-driven decision-making by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Automating reporting processes and improving data efficiency.
  • Collaborating with planners, cost engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders.
  • Assisting with data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in reporting standards and Business Intelligence capabilities.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Reporting roles (relevant background preferred).
  • Proficiency in Power BI dashboard development.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with structured datasets.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and reporting best practices.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Microsoft Excel and Office applications expertise.

Desirable (Bonus Skills)

  • Project Controls, cost management, or planning experience.
  • Knowledge of construction, infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or engineering sectors.
  • Familiarity with consultancy or client-facing environments.
  • Working knowledge of earned value management, programme performance reporting, or Primavera P6.
  • Experience with Power Query, DAX, and data transformation techniques.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, EcoSys, Oracle, or SAP project controls systems.
