Location: Warton – Hybrid, 3 days a week on-site per week Salary: £51,772+ (DOE)

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Data and Analytics function at the heart of digital transformation across the Air Sector. Working with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and other business areas, you’ll help deliver data-driven solutions that support strategy-making, operational performance, and business improvement.

Using modern business intelligence tools, data platforms, and analytics technologies, you’ll contribute to the development of dashboards, reporting solutions, data models, and governed datasets that enable valuable business insights.

Working within an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop expertise in business intelligence, data engineering, and analytics technologies, while benefiting from structured training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing within a growing team supporting the future of data-driven strategy-making at BAE Systems.


Core Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and developers to understand requirements and deliver effective business intelligence (BI) solutions
  • Build, test, and deploy BI solutions in line with coding and change management standards
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and progress updates
  • Perform unit testing, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities to support reliable solution delivery
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents within agreed service levels to maintain business continuity

# Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in:
    • Developing data models
    • Creating dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools, such as:
    • Cognos Analytics
    • SSRS
  • Knowledge of release and deployment processes, including:
    • Version control
    • Change management practices
  • Tableau certification, relevant qualification, or equivalent practical experience in BI development
  • Experience working with stakeholders to:
    • Gather requirements
    • Communicate solutions
    • Support successful project delivery

Supporting every area of the Air Sector, this growing team delivers the data platforms, dashboards, and analytics solutions that empower informed business strategies. Across functions like Finance, Procurement, and Manufacturing, the team develops:

  • Data warehouses
  • Governed datasets
  • Reporting capabilities

These initiatives drive operational performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. Combining expertise in data engineering, analytics, business evaluation, and project delivery, the team plays a vital role in advancing digital transformation and helping BAE Systems unlock greater value from its data.
