BI/MI Reporting Analyst - Outside IR35 - Contract

Softwire are seeking a contract BI/MI Reporting Analyst with experience of Power BI and Qlik to join a client project with the Energy & Utilities industry.

This role is primarily focused on understanding, organising and documenting the existing reporting estate rather than developing a new reporting platform.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver a full catalogue of a client's existing Power BI and Qlik reports/dashboards, with clearer guidance for managers on which reports suit their roles
  • Identify current and potential user groups for management information and reporting
  • Review the existing Power BI and Qlik report estate, working with report owners and users to map available reports and dashboards
  • Build a structured reporting catalogue covering description, purpose, intended users, ownership and access information for each report
  • Spot gaps, overlaps, duplication and inactive/unused reports
  • Create curated report lists per user group to help managers identify what's relevant to their responsibilities
  • Validate catalogue and curated lists with stakeholders, incorporating feedback
  • Produce clear, maintainable documentation, including a recommended approach for keeping the catalogue current post-engagement
  • Support the wider delivery team through ceremonies, reviews and stakeholder sessions
  • Some travel to the Scotland office (2–3 days at agreed points, expenses covered) preferred

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
