About PUBLIC

PUBLIC is a digital transformation partner committed to helping the public sector turn innovative ideas into practical solutions. Combining expertise in government policy, delivery and technology, we aim to build a public sector that is powered by new technologies and innovative ways of working to achieve better outcomes for citizens. This mission drove us to create PUBLIC and continues to guide everything we do.

We started PUBLIC because we recognised the public sector wasn’t fully benefiting from the technology revolution. Combining ambition to pioneers ‘GovTech’, PUBLIC emerged as a trailblazer bridging government and innovative tech.

Today, we collaborate with diverse organisations—such as the UK Ministry of Defence, Department for Business and Trade, European Commission, Crown Commercial Service, National Grid, and NHS. We enable digital transformation through strategic advising, upskilling, digital product delivery, and policy evaluation.

Proudly serving as a leading digital transformation partner for the public sector, we remain committed to delivering maximum value for our clients—igniting lasting impact for the services they provide to citizens. Our vision shapes our decisions, fuels growth, and motivates our forward-thinking team.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

PUBLIC fosters a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace where everyone is valued. As an equal-opportunity employer, we actively encourage applications from all backgrounds, including:

  • People with neurodiversity, disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals
  • Individuals from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds
  • Armed Forces community members, veterans, reservists, and their families

We are a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. To reduce unconscious bias in hiring, we blind review all applications initially. Candidates from non-traditional or underrepresented backgrounds are warmly encouraged to apply.

The Role: Bid Associate

We're seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Bid Associate to join our team, playing a critical role in identifying and winning new business for PUBLIC. This is a development-focused position; we prioritise attitude, potential, and a willingness to learn.

Strong emphasis will be placed on exceptional writing skills: crafting clear, concise, and engaging proposals that effectively showcase our capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development & Business Development

  • Work closely with the Business Development (Growth) Manager to manage the end-to-end business development lifecycle, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
  • Cultivate expertise in strategic topics aligned with PUBLIC’s mission by developing compelling proposals, bids, and pitch decks for new opportunities.
  • Edit proposal documents rigorously, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to guidelines.
  • Gather key information by coordinating with internal subject matter experts, technical teams, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our shared knowledge base, ensuring best practices, tools, and resources remain current.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
