About The Role
Bid Manager
Salary: £50,000 + Commission
Location: Leeds Head Office
At SBFM, we're passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating opportunities for our people to thrive. As one of the UK's fastest-growing facilities management businesses, we're looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join our growing Commercial team.
Reporting to the Head of Bid Management, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-focused bids that support our ambitious growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys managing complex tenders, collaborating with colleagues across the business and producing compelling proposals that help us win new business.
What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with the Head of Bid Management and the wider Commercial team, you'll manage the bid process from opportunity through to submission, ensuring every proposal is engaging, compliant and tailored to each client's needs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Monitoring new tender opportunities and supporting the Bid/No-Bid process.
- Managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.
- Writing, editing and refining persuasive bid responses that clearly demonstrate our value proposition.
- Collaborating with Business Development, Operations and subject matter experts to develop winning solutions.
- Identifying client priorities and tailoring proposals to address their specific requirements.
- Producing high-quality submission documents that are compliant, professional and compelling.
- Supporting the ongoing development of bid content, templates and knowledge libraries.
- Maintaining excellent stakeholder communication throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Contributing ideas that continuously improve our bid processes, quality and win rates.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for a highly organised and motivated Bid Manager with excellent writing skills and a passion for producing winning submissions.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience in a Bid Manager or similar bid writing role, ideally within Facilities Management or another service-led industry.
- Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- The confidence to engage with stakeholders across all areas of the business.
- The ability to identify client drivers and develop tailored, persuasive bid responses.
- Experience using procurement portals and managing tender submissions.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online research tools.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to perform under pressure.
