A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Bid Manager within our Transmission Services Sales Application and Offer Management team, you will play a crucial role in driving business development by managing the complete bid process. This includes everything from identifying opportunities to submitting compelling proposals and handing over projects to our operational teams. You will ensure that every tender response is of the highest quality and strategically positioned to win, working closely with various internal stakeholders to create cohesive and competitive proposals.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Evaluate customer enquiry documentation to interpret technical and commercial scopes.
  • Prepare and develop compliant, professionally produced tender responses that meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate, review, and edit proposal input from sales, engineering, finance, and legal teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate bid documentation, including bid files and pricing information.
  • Develop and execute bid strategies that align with company goals, including Bid/No Bid decisions.
  • Analyse and interpret contract terms and conditions, liaising with legal and commercial colleagues.
  • Conduct post-tender negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Manage resources and timelines to ensure on-time and high-quality proposal submissions.
  • Monitor and evaluate bid performance metrics and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and environmental ISO14001 standards.

What You Bring

  • Professional experience in roles such as Tendering Engineer, Bid Manager, or Proposal Manager, preferably in a complex services business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), SAP Applications, and Salesforce.
  • Strong skills in proposal and bid management, technical writing, contract negotiation, and cost estimation.
  • Business development and stakeholder management experience, with a focus on process improvement and commercial acumen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field would be beneficial.

Our Transmission Services Team are based in Newcastle and Leeds and work with all areas of the business on the tender process, bid strategy and project management.
