Bid Manager

At SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK, we're helping businesses and local authorities reduce waste, conserve natural resources and build a more sustainable future. We're looking for a Bid Manager to join our Municipal Development team and play a key role in securing contracts that support the UK's transition to a circular economy.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead meaningful projects, work with experienced industry professionals and make a direct impact on environmental outcomes across the UK.

Salary: £43,562 - £51,098

Benefits: company car OR car allowance, 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance, 5% employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, company sick pay and a range of additional benefits.

Location: Bristol, Maidenhead or Darwen (hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office)

About The Role

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Municipal Development, you'll lead the development and delivery of high-quality bids for local authority and public sector contracts across the waste management, recycling and environmental services sector.

Working with multidisciplinary teams, you'll manage opportunities from pre-qualification through to contract award and mobilisation, developing robust technical and commercial solutions that meet customer needs and support SUEZ's growth ambitions.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead the preparation and submission of complex tenders, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality bids on time.
  • Develop compelling technical, operational and commercial proposals that address customer requirements and procurement criteria.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and public sector customers throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage financial models that support competitive and commercially sustainable tender submissions.
  • Support contract mobilisation and contribute to wider business development initiatives across the Municipal Development team.

What are the requirements?

  • Experience developing and managing bids within a multidisciplinary environment, ideally in waste management, recycling, environmental services or a related sector.
  • Understanding of public sector tendering, procurement processes and relevant public procurement regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong writing, presentation and bid development skills, with experience producing high-quality tender responses.
  • Good financial knowledge, including the ability to develop and interpret financial models for tenders.
