Bid Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading, award-winning Tier 1 main contractor. Operating across the South West and South Wales, this well-established construction business delivers high-profile projects across multiple sectors and is renowned for quality, innovation, and sustainability.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Construction Bid Manager seeking to take the next step within a forward-thinking organisation offering long-term career progression, a collaborative culture, and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the full bid lifecycle from pre-qualification through to tender submission Develop compelling, high-quality bid submissions that align with client requirements and company strategy Coordinate cross-functional teams including pre-construction, design, commercial, and operational staff Analyse tender documents, identify key win themes, and implement winning strategies Manage bid programmes, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality Review and refine written content to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact Conduct post-tender reviews and continuous improvement of bid processes Build strong internal and external relationships to support successful bid outcomes

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bid Manager within the construction industry, ideally with a Tier 1 or large main contractor Strong understanding of the UK construction market and procurement processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills Experience working on large-scale, complex construction projects is highly desirable
