Bid Manager

Bid Manager | up to £70,000 + package | Hertfordshire | Main Contractor | Permanent

A lot of Bid Manager roles look the same - this one offers something a little different.

The business in question is a well-established contractor with a strong reputation across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, heritage, residential, public buildings and leisure.

Projects typically range from £1m to £6m in value, although larger schemes are not uncommon, and much of their work is secured through long-standing client relationships and established framework agreements.

As Bid Manager, you will sit at the heart of the pre-construction team, working closely with estimators, planners, operational staff and directors to develop compelling submissions that genuinely reflect the capability of the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Whilst bid writing remains a key part of the role, this is far more than simply completing quality questions.

Responsibilities will include:

• Writing and developing high-quality tender responses. • Researching and gathering technical information to support submissions. • Producing presentations for tender interviews and client meetings. • Creating bespoke bid documents, case studies and CVs. • Supporting framework and pre-qualification submissions. • Maintaining and improving bid library content. • Contributing to wider marketing and business development initiatives.

What makes the role particularly interesting is the level of exposure available. The business is keen to meet somebody who wants to progress their career rather than simply maintain the status quo. Whether your ambition is to take ownership of larger bids, become more involved in bid strategy or broaden your involvement within pre-construction, there is genuine scope to do so.
