Bid Manager/Writer

Department: Business Development

Role: Bid Manager / Writer

Location: London

Compensation: £50,000 – £75,000 per year

About the Role

Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger—and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.

We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.

We are seeking a Bid Manager / Writer to take ownership of our tender submissions—producing compelling, high-quality bids that win work and reflect the strength of what Harmony does. This role sits at the heart of our commercial engine, working closely with Business Development, Pre-Construction, Operations, and Senior Leadership to craft submissions that are:

  • Persuasive
  • Technically credible
  • On time every time

This is more than a writing role. It is about understanding what makes Harmony different, translating that into responses that resonate with clients, and building the systems and library that make our bid process sharper with every submission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end bid process—from opportunity identification and kick-off through to submission—ensuring every tender is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Write, edit, and quality-review bid responses across frameworks, procurements, and contract opportunities—including social housing, fire safety, and compliance workstreams.
  • Work closely with estimating, pre-construction, operations, and senior leadership to gather the technical content, commercial data, and evidence needed for winning submissions.
  • Develop and maintain a well-organised bid library—standard responses, case studies, CVs, accreditations, and supporting documentation—ensuring it’s current and accessible.
  • Manage multiple concurrent bids, coordinating inputs from across the business and holding colleagues accountable to review deadlines.
  • Review and quality-check all submissions before they go out—ensuring responses are clear, compliant, and compelling.
  • Track the bid pipeline and outcomes, feeding win/loss analysis back into the team to continuously improve submission quality.
  • Support the development of wider BD collateral—capability statements, presentations, and framework applications—as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
