Bid Writer

Bid Writer – Razorblue

We are looking for a Bid Writer to join our growing team of like-minded tech professionals.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Bid Writing & Proposal Creation (70%)

    • Bid/Proposal Writing: Write clear, persuasive, and tailored content for bids, proposals, and tender documents.
      • Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all submissions.
      • Translate complex technical or operational information into accessible language.
      • Work with the Bid Manager to maintain a library of reusable content, case studies, and credentials.
    • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure bids comply with client specifications, internal governance, and scoring criteria.
      • Review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and impact.
    • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with subject matter experts in business development, commercial, and operational teams.
      • Attend bid kick-off and review meetings.
    • Research & Intelligence Gathering: Analyse tender documents and customer requirements.
      • Assist the Bid Manager in competitor analysis and market research to inform bid strategy.
      • Stay updated on industry trends and procurement practices.
    • Post-Bid Activities: Attend debriefs and lessons-learned sessions, and support client presentations.
    • Bid/Proposal Coordination: Manage end-to-end bid processes for new business opportunities, ensuring deadlines, documentation, and submission requirements are met in collaboration with the Bid Manager.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth (30%)

    • Support the sales cycle from first contact to handover to the New Business team.
    • Collaborate with the team in prospect meetings to enhance success rates.

Requirements

Qualification

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Experience

  • Proven experience in bid writing or proposal development, ideally in B2B or public sector environments.
    • (Desirable: Experience in IT, preferably with Microsoft Partners or Managed Service Providers.)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong telephone communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Builds and maintains strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Determined, enthusiastic, reliable, and sociable with a customer-centric approach.
  • Demonstrates creative thinking, strategic mindset, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and use initiative.
  • Familiarity with procurement portals and tendering processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document formatting tools.
  • Expert English conversational fluency to explain complex technical issues.
