What You'll Bring
A minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering major tenders or frameworks within a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Exceptional writing skills - able to simplify complexity, structure compelling narratives and adapt tone to client expectations
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, facilitate workshops and influence thinking at all levels
- A strategic mindset - someone who doesn’t just write what they’re given, but shapes solutions, challenges assumptions and adds value
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Advanced MS Word and strong MS Office skills; design or layout experience (InDesign or similar) is a bonus
- APMP certification (Foundation or Practitioner) preferred, or a willingness to work towards it
- The ability to travel for workshops, interviews or stakeholder engagement sessions when required
- A proactive attitude, resilience under pressure and a genuine enjoyment of collaboration and continuous improvement

Where You'll Be Working
At M Group Energy we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
What You'll Be Doing
We're recruiting for an experienced Bid Writer who will play a critical role in helping us secure major infrastructure projects across the UK, shaping compelling narratives, driving win themes, and turning complex technical input into clear, persuasive proposals that stand out.
This is a hybrid position, and you’ll be working from our Nottingham office at least 3 days each week to collaborate closely with the team.
- Develop clear, client‑focused pricing narratives for price updates, tenders, and commercial clarifications.
- Taking full ownership of written bid responses — interpreting client requirements, shaping solution structure and producing persuasive, well‑crafted content
- Facilitating storyboarding and planning sessions to agree win themes, narrative flow and key messaging
- Asking insightful questions to challenge assumptions, strengthen solutions and ensure our proposition is fully aligned to client needs
- Collaborating closely with estimators, engineers, operational leads and senior stakeholders to bring together technical excellence, ESG commitments, social value and innovation
- Supporting the development of graphics, diagrams or visual layouts that help make complex ideas simple and engaging
- Capturing lessons learned, updating the content library and continuously improving templates, tools and bid processes
