Bid Writer
Bid Writer
Our client is an established and growing organisation seeking an experienced Bid Writer to create high-quality, customer-focused proposal content that clearly communicates the organisation's capabilities and value proposition.
Working closely with bid management professionals and subject matter experts across the business, you will play a key role in producing compelling responses to formal procurement opportunities and supporting the successful delivery of complex, high-value submissions.
This is a collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possesses:
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management abilities
- Commercial awareness
Key Responsibilities
- Leading content planning and solution development workshops with bid teams and business stakeholders
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with subject matter experts across multiple business functions
- Supporting the development of proposal structures that align with customer requirements and evaluation criteria
- Reviewing, adapting, and enhancing existing proposal content to ensure relevance, consistency, and quality
- Writing, editing, and refining persuasive proposal responses within agreed submission deadlines, while highlighting risks or issues
- Collaborating with technical, operational, commercial, legal, finance, marketing, and delivery teams to compile clear and customer-focused responses
- Providing guidance to contributors on proposal writing best practices, style, and quality standards
- Maintaining and developing reusable proposal content by contributing to the organisation's knowledge management resources
- Supporting the continuous improvement of proposal templates, content libraries, and bid writing processes

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience working across the full bid or proposal lifecycle
- Ability to produce clear, compelling, and persuasive written responses tailored to customer requirements
- Experience contributing to complex, strategic or high-value bid submissions
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt style, tone, and messaging for different audiences
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams to manage competing priorities
- Ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work under pressure, meeting fixed deadlines
- Experience using digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance proposal quality and improve efficiency

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Background in professional services, business services, or complex commercial environments
- Familiarity with formal bid management methodologies or governance frameworks
- Experience developing and maintaining proposal content libraries or knowledge management systems
- Understanding of competitive tendering processes within either the public or private sector
