Overview of Role
We are seeking an innovative and creative bid writer who can produce accurate and compelling content and who is driven by success.
The Bid Writer will operate across the Sureserve Compliance Electrical Group, working closely with the Bid Manager to develop and deliver articulate and engaging bid submissions. Working closely with other members of the bid team plus operational leads and estimating, you will research and understand the nature of the contracts and projects the company is involved with and delivering to continuously improve bid submissions, presentations and client interviews.
This role requires an ability to work under pressure, to challenging deadlines. It also requires the ability to engage and liaise successfully with a wide range of internal colleagues from across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- To develop and deliver high quality, articulate and engaging bid material, from prequalification stage through to contract mobilisation. This could include case studies, method statement responses, charts / graphics / images, CVs, question responses, presentations etc.
- Review and challenge existing written material, edit and make improvements with a focus on continuous improvement. Actively seek out high quality content from internal and external sources, including desktop research, to constantly improve proposals.
- Provide regular updates on all proposals/bids to the Senior Bid Manager and Head of New Business.
- Maintain a comprehensive bid library, including updating documents such as CVs and case studies as required.
- Ensure complete, compliant bid submissions are prepared within prescribed or agreed deadlines.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Proven capability in delivering winning multi-million-pound tenders, ideally within the Social Housing/Local Authority electrical compliance sector, or a related field. Our business carries out “cradle to grave” property services including refurbishment, maintenance and compliance.
- Experience of bid management from opportunity identification through to project delivery. Experience in providing valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, and solution design.
- Experience of successfully engaging with a wide range of internal stakeholders to develop compelling evidence and proposals.
