The Vacancy

The purpose of Bids and Tenders Writer is to secure and steward income for Llamau through grants and contracts linked to set targets, objectives and organisational strategies. This includes the identification and development of opportunities and plans in partnership with colleagues in the Business Development function within the wider Fundraising and Communications team, alongside operational, financial and strategic leads across the charity.

The Bids and Tenders Writer is responsible for leading the development, coordination and submission of high-quality bids, tenders and related reports for the organisation to deliver its wide range of services and activities across Wales. The role flexibly covers engagement with both statutory (e.g. local authorities/Welsh Government) and voluntary funding bodies (e.g. trusts and foundations), working with internal stakeholders to both develop new business opportunities and ensure ongoing successful stewardship and retention of existing income and relationships. This includes current grant-based income and a significant number of contracted services in Wales covering housing related support, early intervention/prevention, employability programmes, domestic abuse services and bespoke enhanced services/activities. Success in this role will be measured through the quality, competitiveness and success rate of submissions, alongside the effective stewardship and retention of income.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
