About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Big Data Technician to join our growing data team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in Big Data, Data Engineering, and Analytics.

No professional experience is required. We are seeking candidates with strong analytical thinking, a willingness to learn modern data technologies, and a passion for working with large datasets.

You will receive hands-on training while supporting the collection, processing, organization, and maintenance of data used for business intelligence and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing large datasets for analysis.
  • Monitor and maintain data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Support the execution of data processing and ETL workflows.
  • Assist in managing structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Help identify data issues and report inconsistencies.
  • Work with senior engineers to maintain data pipelines.
  • Generate basic reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools.
  • Document data processes and technical procedures.
  • Follow data governance, privacy, and security standards.
  • Continuously learn new Big Data technologies and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of databases and data management concepts.
  • Familiarity with SQL fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Exposure to Python or Java.
  • Basic understanding of Big Data concepts.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Understanding of Linux basics.
  • Personal projects, coursework, or certifications in Data Analytics or Big Data.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or bootcamp experience are a plus.
