Role: Billing Lead
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 + Benefits
We're recruiting for a number one in Billing to lead a small billing team, ensuring invoices are raised accurately, on time and in line with customer agreements. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance function where you'll play a key role in improving processes, strengthening controls and supporting cash flow across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the billing function, ensuring invoices are produced accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Manage billing across recurring contracts, ad hoc work and project-based services.
- Ensure all invoices are raised in line with customer agreements, pricing schedules and contractual terms.
- Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders to obtain billing information and resolve issues quickly.
- Monitor outstanding billing items and proactively reduce delays to invoicing.
- Implement and improve billing controls, processes and reporting.
- Produce KPI reporting around billing performance, accuracy and unbilled revenue.
- Work closely with Credit Control to resolve invoice queries and support timely cash collection.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across billing systems and processes.

Key Requirements

- Previous experience leading or supervising a billing, revenue or sales ledger function.
- Strong knowledge of billing within a B2B services environment.
- Experience working with customer contracts, pricing schedules and service agreements.
- A process-driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
- The confidence to build relationships and challenge stakeholders where required.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
