Position Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our administrative and finance team. This role is responsible for preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all project billing activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in billing, accounting, or finance within a project-driven or engineering environment.

Billing Specialist – Engineering & Utility Projects
Location: Plantation, FL
Job Type: Full-time
What you'll do
- Prepare, issue, and track invoices for engineering and design projects.
- Verify billing information against contracts, purchase orders, and project milestones.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or client inquiries in a professional manner.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting processes.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing aligns with project progress and budgets.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of billing and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What we're looking for
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Experience: 2+ years of billing or accounting experience, ideally in an engineering, construction, or utilities setting.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in invoicing and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple billing cycles and deadlines simultaneously.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with project-based billing or progress invoicing.
- Knowledge of contract terms, purchase orders, and cost tracking.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
