The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.
Job Description
The Fire BIM Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, quality, and timely delivery of fire engineering digital information across all project stages. Working closely with Fire Engineers, BIM Managers, and multidisciplinary design teams, the role ensures that fire models, drawings, and data accurately reflect the approved fire strategy and comply with project BIM standards, programme requirements, and information exchange milestones.
The role has a strong technical focus, utilising OpenBuildings Designer, Bentley Raceway, Bentley iTwins, and ProjectWise to manage fire discipline models, digital assets, and information flows within a federated BIM environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the fire discipline BIM delivery in line with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ISO 19650, and client EIRs Act as the primary point of contact for fire-related BIM coordination issues Manage, review, and update fire engineering 3D models using OpenBuildings Designer and Bentley Raceway Ensure accurate modelling of fire strategy elements including compartmentation, fire stopping, dampers, penetration seals, smoke control interfaces, signage, and life-safety systems Oversee the production and coordination of 2D fire drawings derived from the federated models Model & Information Coordination

Carry out regular model reviews and coordination checks using Bentley iTwins Identify, report, and assist in resolving clashes and interface issues with architectural, MEP, and structural disciplines Ensure fire models remain coordinated with the latest architectural layouts and MEP systems Maintain model integrity and data consistency across design iterations Digital Assets & Libraries
Develop, manage, and maintain fire component and item-type libraries within OpenBuildings Ensure fire components are standardised, data-rich, and suitable for IFC, data drops, and downstream use Control approval and versioning of fire digital assets Team & Task Management
Allocate and oversee fire modellers’ tasks to align with the project programme Monitor progress against deliverables, identifying risks to deadlines early Provide technical BIM support and guidance to fire modelling staff Carry out QA checks on models and drawings prior to submission Information Management & CDE
Manage fire discipline information within Bentley ProjectWise, ensuring compliance with naming conventions, metadata, status codes, and revision control Support project data exchanges, MPDT inputs, and formal information releases Ensure accurate, approved fire information is issued at each project stage Fire Strategy & Compliance

Ensure all fire BIM outputs accurately reflect the approved fire strategy and design intent Coordinate updates resulting from fire authority comments, design changes, or site feedback Support internal and external fire design reviews using coordinated BIM outputs Collaboration & Communication
Participate in BIM coordination and design team meetings Communicate fire BIM risks, constraints, and changes clearly to project stakeholders Support construction-stage coordination, technical queries, and model updates where required
Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
Bentley iTwin Design Review Bentley ProjectWise. Bentley OpenBuilding Designer. Bentley Microstation Strong background in the management and coordination of BIM models within large‑scale infrastructure or construction programmes. Proven experience in the design of fire systems for stations and large‑scale commercial projects.
