Typical Responsibilities

As our BIM Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of BIM across Protec's Fire & Security projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and the effective management of information throughout the design, construction, handover, and operational phases of projects.

A key aspect of the role will be driving compliance with the ISO 19650 suite of standards, ensuring a consistent approach to information management, data classification, security, collaboration, and information exchange across all projects. This will support both project delivery and the long-term management of critical fire and life safety assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead BIM delivery across Fire & Security projects, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and aligned with client, regulatory, and project requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and manage BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project information management strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with the ISO 19650 framework, including:

    • ISO 19650-1 (Concepts and Principles)
    • ISO 19650-2 (Delivery Phase of Assets)
    • ISO 19650-3 (Operational Phase of Assets)
    • ISO 19650-4 (Information Exchange)
    • ISO 19650-5 (Security-Minded Information Management)
  • Support Protec's alignment with the UK BIM Framework and wider industry information management requirements.

  • Develop and maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) processes to ensure secure, accurate, and controlled management of project information.

  • Establish standards for information generation, classification, validation, exchange, and security relating to fire detection, suppression, and security systems.

  • Coordinate federated models, undertaking clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination with wider construction, architectural, structural, and M&E disciplines.

  • Ensure all BIM deliverables meet Employer's Information Requirements (EIRs), Asset Information Requirements (AIRs), and organisational information requirements where applicable.

  • Manage the development and maintenance of fire and security-specific BIM object libraries, templates, standards, and workflows.

  • Support the creation and validation of Asset Information Models (AIMs) and structured asset data to facilitate building operation, maintenance, compliance, and lifecycle management.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate digital representations of life safety systems and support the production of as-built information.

  • Act as the primary BIM and digital information management lead for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Support business-wide BIM maturity improvements and continuous development of digital delivery processes.

  • Deliver BIM training, mentoring, and guidance to internal teams to embed best practices and improve capability.

  • Monitor BIM performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive innovation across the Fire & Security business.

  • Support the business in achieving and maintaining ISO 19650 certification and compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
