BIM Manager – London, Bicester or Newcastle

We now seek an experienced BIM Manager to be based in our London, Bicester, or Newcastle office.
Role Responsibilities

Leadership & Management
- Oversee the compilation and issue of Revit/BIM models across all business sectors.
- Assist with presentational material for clients.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing within the business.

Library & Content Management
- Develop and enforce Red company standards aligned with industry AEC standards and BIMstore UK protocols.

Revit & BIM Workflows
- Develop and enforce the use of parametric families, MEP system families, and intelligent families in Revit MEP.
- Transition technical details from traditional specifications into a single data model environment, ensuring coordinated data extraction.
- Audit 2D CAD drawings and 3D models.

Team Collaboration & Workshops
- Plan and facilitate "inter-office" (internal) and "extra-office" (external) collaboration, leading BIM coordination processes.
- Create and manage AutoCAD and Revit project templates tailored to specific sectors.
- Set and enforce standards for visualization (colour/black-and-white) of drawings and sheets.

Model Generation & Production
- Develop high-quality rendered images from Revit, SketchUp, and Navisworks.
- Generate animated fly-throughs of 3D project models using Revit and Navisworks.

Project Representation & Bid Support
- Attend client interviews and project meetings (in-person/virtual) to present 3D model progress to stakeholders.
- Represent Red’s BIM capabilities in bid processes.

Knowledge Sharing & Training
- Conduct BIM, CAD, and Revit user groups.
- Organize workshops (scheduled, internal, and sector-specific).
- Present at industry BIM events (preparation/training included).
- Train Red staff on evolving software versions, standards, and techniques.
- Travel to worksites in the Middle East and Asia for cross-office collaboration.

Quality Assurance & Client Liaison
- Perform final model accuracy checks before issue.
- Liaise with lead office clients on model modifications.
- Monitor subordinates for fine-tuning adjustments as needed.
- Motivate teams to adopt new software techniques and refine workflows.
- Liaise with lead office staff regarding model production.

Technical & Operational Tasks
- Model MEP systems across all business sectors.
- Develop schematic and detailed Revit/BIM MEP models.
- Coordinate with BIM consultants and Red engineers.
- Attend model coordination meetings.
- Deliver innovative sustainability-focused BIM modelling.
- Resolve design/constructive technical issues.
- Adjust workload plans/processes in response to project demands.
- Flag resource gaps to the design director to ensure timelines are met.
Role Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalents (desirable): BSc/BEng in a relevant engineering discipline, or BTEC National Dip in Construction.
- Preferred certifications in:
- Autodesk Revit MEP Fundamentals
- Autodesk Revit for Project Managers
- Autodesk NavisWorks
- AutoCAD 3D Drawing/Modelling, Advanced MEP Management
- SketchUp Advanced
- Revit Architecture Fundamentals
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of Revit project experience (desirable).
- Member/Associate of CIBSE or the Society of Digital Engineering (preferred).
- Previous experience in a global business (desirable).
- Expert knowledge in:
- Revit MEP
- AutoCAD
- Navisworks Manage
- BIM 360
- Basic knowledge: Revit Architecture & Structure
- Proven track record of:
- Live BIMART environment coordination.
- BIMserver management (whitsondouglass לוג...) (Note: Understanding of BIM360/Revit Server at logistics/usage levels).
- Creation of project BIM execution plans.
- Developing and adhering to live company BIM models.
- Existing experience coordinating in a construction site workshop using 3D modelling software, producing construction workshop drawings.
- MEP Servicing Expertise:
- Understanding of installation/installation requirements, clearance, maintenance, and support.
- Ability to fully coordinate MEP services within 3D/2D environments following project engineer outlines.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Basic working knowledge of AutoLISP, Dynamo, or VBA (desirable, not essential).
- Ability to customize AutoCAD/Revit menus and create MEP parts & libraries.
- comando logic knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit scripting automation (optional).
- Construction & Safety Compliance:
- An understanding of mechanical & electrical engineering.
- Sound Health & Safety (H&S) awareness.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Proven team leader experience (essential).
- Presentation skills for client engagements.
