The Engineering Function
The Engineering team is central to our SMR programme, combining design, construction, and digital expertise to solve complex, safety-critical challenges. Our Information Management capability is modernising data, BIM, and delivery integration, ensuring trustworthy, accessible information drives right-first-time outcomes across the lifecycle.
Role Summary
As BIM Manager – Projects, reporting to the Senior Information Manager, you will:
- Lead a growing team of BIM and Information Specialist members.
- Define and embed best-in-class information management across live projects, ensuring design, construction, and supply chain data is:
- Coordinated
- Assured
- Optimised for predictable, high-quality delivery
What You’ll Help Deliver
Our SMR programme requires skilled professionals who can:
- Shape and deliver Information Management (IM) and BIM strategies aligned with ** programme and project delivery requirements**.
- Establish, lead, and scale project-focused Information Management teams aligned to delivery milestones.
- Own core IM outputs:
- Energy Information Requirements (EIR)
- BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
- Asset Information Requirements (AIR)
- Managed Information Document Plan (MIDP) Ensuring these documents are proportionate, clear, and deliverable.
- Integrate data flows across design, construction, and supply chain partners to reduce rework and improve construction readiness.
Key Interface Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients, partners, and internal teams, positioning information as a critical delivery asset—not just a digital output.

Skills & Experience Requirements
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering, construction, architecture, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Further BIM or Information Management development highly advantageous.
Core Competencies
- Proven experience delivering BIM and information management in large-scale, regulated infrastructure or construction projects.
- Deep understanding of ISO 19650, BIM principles, and Common Data Environments (e.g., ACC, Asite, SharePoint), applied effectively in live project environments.
- Track record of leading teams and influencing across multidisciplinary functions, including:
- Design
- Delivery
- Commercial
- Supply chain
Location & Flexibility
- Hybrid working model with flexible attendance at RR-SMR sites as required, supporting collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
