BIM Project Lead – London, Bicester or Newcastle

We are now seeking an experienced BIM Project Lead to join our team in London, Bicester or Newcastle.
Role Responsibilities
Planning and Project Management
- Communicate project resourcing requirements to the Local BIM Manager.
- Liaise with design teams and the supply chain to ensure technical information and outputs are produced and delivered in line with client requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to key stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and design managers.
Setting Up BIM Project Environments
- Lead CDE (Common Data Environment) setup, including model and drawing templates, 2D and 3D content.
- Interpret and implement client requirements on assigned projects.
- Coordinate with project teams to integrate BIM processes into project planning and execution.
Production
- Lead the production and maintenance of BIM models, drawings, schedules, and specifications using Autodesk BIM360/ACC, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead clash detection, model interrogation, and coordination activities using Autodesk Navisworks Manage and Autodesk BIM360/ACC, including fly-throughs, clash reports, and visualisation outputs.
Support
- Provide technical training and support to team members on BIM software and best practices.
Liaison
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for client-facing CAD and BIM queries.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design and construction issues.
- Work with Local, Regional, and Global BIM leads to contribute to training and development plans for 2D and 3D modelling staff.

Meetings and Coordination

Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings, clash detection sessions, and multi-discipline projects, including:
- Setting agendas.
- Tracking progress, achievements, and programmes.
- Identifying and distributing actions and risks.

Present live 3D model progress, clash reports, and walk-throughs in project and client meetings (in-person or virtual).
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company policies, including:
- File naming conventions, attributes, and values.
- Level of Information Need (LoN) and model segregation/federation.
- Vendor and internal content compliance.
- Modelling, drafting, and materials standards.
Driving Excellence in Sustainability & Innovation
- Adopt a holistic, innovative approach to sustainability in construction design and modelling.
- Identify and implement process improvements and BIM innovation opportunities.
Ethics & Professional Judgement
- Act in accordance with the RED Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
- Apply straightforward technical and professional judgement based on company policies, standards, and procedures.
Role Requirements
Essentials
✅ Fluent in written and spoken English ✅ Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills (previous team leadership experience essential) ✅ Ability to manage heavy client workloads with a strong drive to deliver results ✅ Exceptional attention to detail and self-motivation ✅ Proven experience in creating Project BIM Execution Plans ✅ Competence in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) ✅ Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines ✅ In-depth knowledge of:
- Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD (authoring tools).
- Autodesk Navisworks Manage (coordination & clash detection).
- BIM 360 / ACC (common data environment management).
- MEP and multidisciplinary construction project workflows (including drawing templates, parametric libraries, and route formalisation).

✅ Relevant qualification:
- BSc/BEng, BTEC National Diploma in Building Services, Construction, or BIM, or equivalent demonstrable experience in engineering.
✅ Minimum of 5 years’ experience using Autodesk Revit in project environments ✅ Proven 3D modelling and project coordination experience in CAD/BIM environments
Desirable
✔ Certification in BS EN ISO19650 (General/BIMabricator, particularly with 19650-2-1) ✔ Extensive experience with BS EN ISO19650, PAS 1192, BS8888 standards ✔ Site-based experience in a contractors’ drawing office, producing coordinated 3D workshop drawings ✔ Constructive phase project experience (Stage 0 – Stage 5, and beyond) in a global consultancy environment ✔ Management of BIM model platforms (e.g. Autodesk BIM 360, Construction Cloud) ✔ Skilled in creating Project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and managing CAD/BIM standards ✔ Familiarity with regional UK/European H&S compliance ✔ Previous global business experience ✔ Profitability in obtaining a valid CSCS card
