Senior BIM / 3D CAD Technician | Water & Infrastructure | Apsley or Glasgow | Hybrid

Ceto Talent is partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit an experienced Senior BIM / 3D CAD Technician to lead digital design delivery across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BIM professional looking to take ownership of digital design standards, mentor a talented team, and play a key role in delivering complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development and delivery of high-quality 3D models and BIM processes across multiple projects.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of BIM/CAD technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Developing and implementing BIM standards, workflows and best practices.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary models across civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams.
  • Managing clash detection, model coordination and design integration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and approving BIM models and technical drawings to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Managing design data, documentation and version control.
  • Working closely with clients, contractors and project teams to ensure digital deliverables are completed on time and to the highest standard.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement within digital engineering and BIM delivery.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 10+ years' experience in BIM and CAD, ideally within the UK water or infrastructure sector.
  • Previous leadership experience managing or mentoring BIM/CAD teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and BIM coordination.
  • Strong experience implementing BIM standards and digital design workflows.
  • Expertise in clash detection, model coordination and multidisciplinary design integration.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Professional BIM Management certification.
  • Knowledge of BIM Level 2/3 standards and cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Experience delivering large-scale or international infrastructure projects.
