Your Purpose

As a BIM Technician, you will utilise advanced BIM applications like Plant3D, Civil3D, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap to develop intelligent 3D models that meet industry standards and support the construction of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality models that integrate health and safety considerations, while innovating and driving performance.

  • Create, amend, and maintain detailed 3D models based on design team instructions, using Revit and Plant 3D to create high-quality designs for water sector projects.
  • Develop and model pipe and duct routes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with the design team to integrate specifications, installation details, and supplier datasheets into your models.
  • Support the integration of health and safety considerations into design processes, ensuring safe and maintainable systems.
  • Ensure your work is completed in accordance with agreed timescales and aligned with the project’s BIM and data management procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing feedback and industry best practices to enhance the BIM model.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure project objectives are met, participating in regular team meetings.
  • Embrace new digital technologies, continuously improving performance and reducing carbon footprints in designs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment where diversity is celebrated and all voices are heard.

About You

We’re looking for a BIM Technician who has:

  • Proficiency in Revit and Plant 3D software, with experience creating 3D models and engineering drawings for water infrastructure projects.
  • A diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
  • A strong understanding of industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and BIM procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and civil disciplines (preferred).
  • Experience with Navisworks and Recap for model coordination and visualisation.
  • Ability to generate and interpret detailed engineering specifications and drawings.
  • A proactive approach to learning and development, with a keen interest in embracing new technologies and improving efficiency.
  • A commitment to safety, ensuring all designs comply with CDM regulations and health and safety practices.
