Role Overview
- Have good awareness of the Benefit By Design AMP6 Initiative and the various strategies contained within it. Use this knowledge at all times in AMP6 to ensure the efficiency target is being met.
- Support the Project and AMP6 Initiative Delivery Managers and wider team in the delivery of projects and the development and use of products for AMP6.
- Adapt to the growing use of multi-disciplinary CAD systems (2D and 3D as appropriate) to develop Standard Products for use by the business in project delivery.
- Have a good understanding of the @one Alliance BIM/PLM initiative and how the implementation of PLM contributes to a product-based approach to project delivery.
- Adopt, work to and promote all relevant @one Alliance procedures, CAD standards and CAD manual, ensuring that a consistent approach is used.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of the AMP6 product catalogue. Identify where improvements can be made and raise these with DAC Project Leads.
- Support product development team with relevant technical knowledge, especially with regard to:
- Excellence in Health and safety in design
- Constructability / ease of manufacture
- Latest good practice
- Latest technology and Innovation – improve quality and remove cost / waste
- Be flexible in approach and prioritise workload. Always focus to meet reasonable customer requirements and appropriately raise an issue where these requirements are unreasonable.
- Report progress and issues to the relevant people.
- Produce high-quality outputs. Be responsible for ensuring that all outputs are subject to appropriate quality checks prior to submission to the project delivery or product development teams as appropriate.
- Support and help to improve the CAD system. Work with the DAC Manager to develop improvement ideas and drive further efficiencies.
- Support supply chain in the delivery of Alliance Standard Products to the required standards.
- Maintain currency of knowledge in the industry and discuss latest applicable innovations and ideas with relevant peers within the Business.
- Build a culture in which nothing is so important that we can’t take the time to do it safely. Embrace the importance of health and safety in all circumstances. Lead by example.
- Embrace the AMP6 Benefit by Design initiative and promote the efficiencies driven by Standard Products.
- Work with people from different partner company backgrounds and disciplines. Utilise their knowledge and experience – implement tried and tested ways of working. Add to this own experience and know-how.
- Create an open and collaborative environment – practice integrated working with all Alliance teams and the client.
- Be aware of the impact other teams and individuals have on your work. Clarify expectations. Be reliable and professional in your response – build a reputation for providing good customer service.
- Communicate clearly and consistently – explain the why as well as the what when delivering key messages or engaging others in new processes and ways of working. Listen to their ideas and feedback.
- Live the continuous improvement philosophy – constantly challenge self and others in a realistic and positive way. Take responsibility for own learning and development and share experience.
- Take responsibility for the product teams' projects and outputs. Use personal energy to enthuse others. Acknowledge problems, own up to them quickly and offer solutions.
- Work with team to utilise everyone’s strengths to best effect. Provide colleagues with regular feedback to assist their development and build overall team capability.
- Apply a mature understanding of process – keep things clear and simple. Utilise processes to enable.
- Generate ideas and agree with DAC Area Leads to try new approaches to drive efficiencies and encourage others to do the same. Balance experimentation with risk.
