About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced BIM/CAD Technician to join their Projects team on a permanent basis at their offices in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled BIM/CAD professional with a strong MEP background to join a well-established organisation delivering complex construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing both 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings, working within a highly coordinated, compliance-led project environment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively with project teams and has experience delivering coordinated design solutions on large-scale construction projects, ideally for Tier 1 contractors.
Key Responsibilities
As The Successful Candidate, You Will:
- Produce high-quality 3D BIM models and detailed 2D CAD drawings.
- Develop and coordinate models using Revit and Navisworks in line with project requirements.
- Carry out multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection across MEP services.
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve design and coordination challenges.
- Produce detailed layouts, sections, schematics, schedules, and quantity take-offs.
- Integrate COBie and asset data into BIM models to support O&M (Operations & Maintenance) documentation and CNS asset tagging.
- Map loop circuit data within field devices where required.
- Ensure all modelling complies with ISO 19650 standards and project BIM protocols.
- Apply knowledge of:
- Fire compartmentation
- Builders Work in Connection (BWIC) requirements
- Support the successful coordination of multiple building services disciplines.

Candidate Profile
Our client is looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role who can demonstrate excellent technical ability and a collaborative approach.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a BIM/CAD Technician within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working with MEP trades.
- Strong understanding of BIM coordination within compliance-driven environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Technical Skills
Candidates should have experience with:
- AutoCAD
- Bluebeam
- Revit
- Navisworks
- Revizto
- Compliance-driven BIM modelling
- Coordination and clash detection
- COBie and asset data integration
- O&M documentation and asset tagging for CNS integration
- Loop circuit data mapping within field devices
- Fire compartmentation and BWIC requirements
- Multi-disciplinary services coordination
- ISO 19650 standards and BIM processes
- Scheduling and quantity take-offs
- Producing detailed sections, schematics, and layout drawings
Desirable
- Experience working on projects with Tier 1 contractors.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction projects within an MEP environment.
