Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Position: Full-time, Permanent / Temp-to-Perm
About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Binding Machine Operative / Print Finisher to join our busy print production team based in Uckfield.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of finishing and binding machinery. Working from job production sheets, you will ensure all printed materials are finished to the highest quality standards before they head out to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, run, and monitor various bindery and print finishing machinery (including folding, booklet making, creasing, and trimming machines).
- Guillotine Cutting: Safely operate cutting equipment, such as Polar Guillotines, to cut printed stock to exact specifications.
- Binding & Booklet Making: Run booklet makers (such as Duplo lines), wire binders, and assist with case binding or hand-stitching tasks where required.
- Quality Control: Inspect printed and finished products to ensure accurate cutting, alignment, and binding, matching the exact requirements of the job sheet.
- Routine Maintenance: Complete basic troubleshooting, machine cleaning, and routine maintenance to minimise production downtime.
- Workflow Management: Follow digital production or management systems (such as OneFlow) to track work progress and maintain an organised station.

What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience as a Bindery Operator, Print Finisher, or Machine Operator.
- Hands-on experience with finishing machinery (e.g., Duplo booklet makers, creasing/trimming machines, or laminators).
- Practical experience operating guillotine systems, ideally Polar Guillotines.
- Competency in various binding disciplines, such as wire binding, hand stitching, or case binding.
- Familiarity with print workflow platforms (e.g., OneFlow System) is highly advantageous.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality under tight production deadlines.
- A reliable team player with a positive, proactive work ethic.
