BioAssay Scientist
Role Overview

This is a full-time, permanent position, working a flexible 37-hour week, Monday – Friday.
Job Responsibilities
As a BioAssay Scientist, you will perform routine, non-routine, and stability testing activities of drug substances (biologics) within the client’s Analytical Service Department.
- Perform a range of biological and analytical testing activities, including ELISA, cell-based, and Biacore assays, accurately capturing and analyzing data using laboratory software and electronic laboratory notebook systems.
- Generate, review, and maintain GMP-compliant documentation, records, reports, SOPs, protocols, and regulatory documentation, ensuring all work is completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
- Support laboratory operations through routine housekeeping, equipment maintenance, reagent and consumable stock management, trend analysis activities, and the investigation and resolution of technical, operational, and out-of-specification issues.
- Contribute to scientific excellence by supporting method development, validation, troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives, and the implementation of best practices to ensure reliable, reproducible, and compliant laboratory processes.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external clients, responding to queries, communicating significant findings, participating in client and Eurofins meetings, and consistently delivering exceptional customer service aligned with client expectations and service goals.
- Maintain compliance with Eurofins, client, GMP, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements through continuous learning, training completion, knowledge sharing, mentoring colleagues where appropriate, and providing flexible support across the wider laboratory operation.
Qualifications
Skills, Qualifications, and Experiences
- Hold a degree or higher qualification in a relevant scientific discipline, together with experience in a bioanalytical laboratory environment working to GMP, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Hold practical experience in a range of bioanalytical techniques, including ELISA, aseptic techniques, cell-based, and potency assays, with experience of pharmaceutical drug substance testing and Biacore assays being advantageous.
- Hold strong technical laboratory skills, including experience of cell culture activities, Vi-Cell and manual cell counting, luminescence-based assays, flow cytometry, and the application of basic statistical analysis to support scientific decision-making.
- Hold excellent attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills, with a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality results, maintaining data integrity, and achieving a right-first-time approach.
- Hold strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, communicate scientific information clearly to colleagues and clients, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Hold a proactive, quality-focused mindset, with the ability to quickly learn new processes, adapt to changing priorities, utilize electronic systems including Microsoft Office, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
